jQ
Description
The jQ theme has grown since its release in August 2009. It has been continuously extended and optimized so that the actual state is quite impressive. Today’s jQ comprises a whole stack of jQuery features as well as an interesting theme options page. Moreover, stylistic aspects have not been neglected.
While the design work was focused rather on details (slight font effects and backgrounds) the technical side has altered and improved clearly. These are the actual jQuery functions which have been implemented mostly since version 2.4:
- a drop-down navigation
- font magnifying in three sizes
- a global function to toggle all posts
- a post specific function to hide or show each entry separately
- a content sliding box (optional) to browse quickly to random posts
- a function to hide the sidebar on single pages
- widgets can now be hidden
And here you get an overview of the theme options page. You can adjust the following points to your preferences:
- three different designs:
- Serif, the default style with serif fonts
- Sans-Serif, the default style with regular fonts
- Dark, a design with dark background and light sans-serif fonts
- custom background and page colour
- font size
- sidebar on the left or on the right
- page or category navigation
- excerpts or entire texts on index pages
- content sliding box (shown or hidden)
- show or hide the admin’s email
I hope you’ll enjoy working with my theme. jQ is published under GPL license (there’s a copy in the sources) so don’t worry about anything! However, I am always happy to get some feedback about my work so don’t hesitate to share your modifications or whatever.
